Come and Rest

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28 · NKJV

Look at who Jesus invites. Not the ones who have it all together. The ones who labor and are heavy laden. The exhausted, the burned out, the people religion has loaded down. His invitation is aimed at the very people who feel least qualified to come.

And notice what He asks of them. Nothing but coming. He does not say climb, clean up, or prove yourself first. He says come to Me, and I will give you rest. The rest is given, not earned. Gifts are received by open hands, not by tired ones working harder.

Maybe you have been carrying a load Jesus never put on you. Set it down. The invitation still stands, and it is addressed to the weary. Come is the only step, and rest is what He promises to give.

Jesus invites the weary, not the qualified. Come to Him, and let rest be given, not earned.
