Finished the Way It Started
“Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?”
Galatians 3:3 · NKJV
Paul asks the Galatians a question worth sitting with. Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? They started with grace, receiving freely, trusting Christ. Then, somewhere along the way, they picked the project back up and started finishing it themselves.
It is the most natural drift in the world. Saved by grace, then sanctified by sweat. But the Christian life does not switch engines halfway. What the Spirit began, the Spirit completes. Growth comes the same way salvation came: by trusting what Christ has done, not by proving what you can do.
If your faith has quietly turned into a performance plan, hear the question as kindness, not scolding. You do not need a better program. You need to come back to the same grace that started it all. It finishes what it starts.
The way in is the way on. What began by the Spirit will be finished by the Spirit, not by your striving.
