His Workmanship
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10 · NKJV
Right after Paul says salvation is not of works, he says something beautiful about work: we are His workmanship. You are not the worker trying to impress God. You are the work of God. The masterpiece, not the mechanic.
Identity comes before impact. God created you in Christ Jesus, and from that finished identity, good works follow. He even prepared them beforehand, like a path already laid. You do not manufacture the path. You walk in it.
So the pressure flips. Good works are not the rungs of a ladder you climb toward acceptance. They are the footprints of a person who is already accepted. Be who He made you. The walking will take care of itself.
You are His workmanship. Works flow from who you are. They never create it.
