Found in Him

“And be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.”

Philippians 3:9 · NKJV

Paul had the most impressive religious résumé of his generation, and he called it loss. His one ambition became this: to be found in Him, not having my own righteousness. He traded a righteousness he built for a righteousness he received.

Your own righteousness always wobbles, because it is only as strong as your last performance. The righteousness which is from God by faith never wobbles, because it is as strong as Christ. That is the exchange the gospel offers: your record for His standing.

Being found in Him means that when God looks at you, He finds Christ’s righteousness wrapped around your life. You are not hiding in Him from an angry God. You were placed in Him by a loving one. That is where you live now.

Stop patching your own righteousness. You are found in Him, wearing a righteousness that cannot fail.
