Draw Near
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
Hebrews 10:22 · NKJV
Let us draw near. That is the whole trajectory of Hebrews, and it only makes sense because of what comes just before it: a great High Priest, a torn veil, a finished sacrifice. God’s answer to your failure has never been distance. It is nearness, on the basis of Jesus’ blood.
And look how you come: in full assurance of faith, with a heart sprinkled clean from an evil conscience. The sacrifice did what a thousand resolutions never could. It cleansed the conscience itself. You are not dragging your guilt into the room hoping He overlooks it. It was dealt with at the cross.
So when shame says stand back, the gospel says draw near. Not because you have been good, but because He is, and His blood has already spoken a better word over you. The way in is open, and it stays open.
Draw near in full assurance. Your conscience was cleansed by His blood, and the way to God stands open.
