Kept From Stumbling
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.”
Jude 24 · NKJV
Jude spends his short letter warning about real dangers, then lands on one of the safest sentences in the Bible: now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling. After every warning, the final word is not try harder. It is a doxology to the God who keeps.
And look at the destination He is keeping you for: presented faultless before the presence of His glory. Not smuggled in, embarrassed and explaining yourself. Faultless, and with exceeding joy. His joy. The Shepherd celebrating that He brought every last one home.
You will have unsteady days. But your arrival does not ride on your footing. It rides on His ability, and He is able. The One who keeps you finds joy in the keeping.
He is able to keep you, and glad to do it. You will arrive faultless, carried by His joy, not your footing.
