Loved and Washed
“To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.”
Revelation 1:5 · NKJV
Before a single vision, before any seal or trumpet, John gives us the lens for everything that follows: to Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood. Revelation opens with the gospel. Whatever else the book unveils, it unveils Jesus, and this is who He is.
Loved us, and washed us. Past tense, finished, personal. He did not love a cleaned-up version of you. He loved you, then did the washing Himself, at the cost of His own blood. The stains you still remember, He has already removed.
So you never have to read the end of the story with dread. The Lamb on the throne is the One who loved you first and washed you completely. The future belongs to Him, and you belong to Him. That is not a threat. It is the best news in the book.
Revelation opens with love and a finished washing. Read every unknown tomorrow through the One who already gave His blood for you.
