Already Overcome

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 · NKJV

Jesus is honest in a way that comforts more than flattery ever could: in the world you will have tribulation. He does not pretend your life will be smooth. Instead He locates your peace somewhere the world cannot touch: in Me you may have peace.

Then the words that change the atmosphere of every hard day: be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Past tense, spoken before the cross, because the outcome was never in doubt. The trouble you woke up to this morning belongs to a war that has already been decided.

Peace is not the absence of trouble. It is the presence of the Overcomer. And He is with you in the trouble, not waiting for you on the other side of it.

Trouble is real, and so is He. You face today inside His victory, not on the way to it.
