Who Condemns?
“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”
Romans 8:34 · NKJV
Paul asks the question your conscience asks in the middle of the night: who is he who condemns? Then he answers it with a resume. It is Christ who died. Furthermore is risen. Is even at the right hand of God. Also makes intercession for us.
Follow the logic. The Judge with every right to condemn is the very One who died for you, rose for you, and now stands in the place of highest authority speaking for you. Your case has no prosecutor left with standing. The court's highest voice is on your side.
Condemnation may still echo in your head, but it no longer has a seat in heaven. The last word about you is being spoken by an Intercessor, and it is good.
The One with the right to condemn you is praying for you instead. Let that answer the accusing voice.
