The God of Hope
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13 · NKJV
Listen to how Paul talks to God about you: now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing. Hope is not something God demands from you. It is something He is called: the God of hope. He is the source, not the examiner.
And notice the delivery route: in believing. Joy and peace do not arrive through tightening your grip or cleaning up your act. They arrive as you rest your weight on what God has said. Trust is the open door that lets the filling in.
The goal is that you may abound in hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Overflow, not scraping by. That is God's intention for your inner life, and He supplies the power for it Himself.
Joy and peace travel one road: believing. Rest your weight on His word and let the God of hope do the filling.
