Exceedingly Abundant

“And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.”

1 Timothy 1:14 · NKJV

Paul is remembering what he was: a blasphemer, a persecutor, a violent man. Then he writes one of the happiest sentences in his letters: and the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

Exceedingly abundant. Paul reaches for a superlative because ordinary words could not hold what happened to him. Grace did not barely cover his past. It flooded it, and carried faith and love in with the tide.

This is the pattern, not the exception. Grace does not arrive in measured doses matched to the size of the offense. It overflows the banks. Whatever chapter of your story makes you wince, grace has already been more.

Grace does not ration. Where your past feels large, His grace has been exceedingly more abundant.
