Not a Spirit of Fear

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7 · NKJV

Timothy was timid by temperament and under pressure, and Paul does not shame him for it. He simply tells him where the fear did not come from: God.

Then the inventory of what God did give. Power, because the Spirit in you is not fragile. Love, because you are held, and held people can open their hands. A sound mind, a settled and ordered inner life, the opposite of the spiral.

When anxiety introduces itself as your identity, you are allowed to check the label. That spirit was not issued by your Father. What He gave carries His own character: strong, loving, clear.

Fear is not your Father's gift. Power, love, and a sound mind are, and they are already yours.
