He Himself Is Our Peace
“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,”
Ephesians 2:14 · NKJV
Paul does not say Jesus brought peace or taught peace. He says Jesus is it.
There was a literal wall in the temple, with a sign warning outsiders not to pass it. Paul is writing to people who had spent their whole lives on the wrong side of that wall, and he tells them it is rubble.
Most of us carry a wall of our own. It might be the church that made it clear there was no place for someone like you, or the voice that says your background, your divorce, or your doubts put you permanently outside. You learned to stand at the edge of the room. Paul isn't offering you a visitor's pass across that wall, because the wall is gone. Jesus became the peace between you and God, and between you and everyone else He brought in.
Made both one. Not tolerated side by side. One. Whatever category kept you outside, whatever line you assumed was permanent, it came down in His body, and God has not rebuilt it.
The wall is down and Jesus Himself is the peace. You are not on the outside of anything.
