Christ in You
“To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Colossians 1:27 · NKJV
Paul builds the sentence like an unveiling, then names what is behind the curtain.
Christ in you. Not Christ near you, not Christ watching you, not Christ available if you reach far enough. The mystery hidden through generations was that God’s plan was indwelling, and the outsiders were always in it.
Christ in you is as true in the carpool line as it is on Sunday. It is true in the meeting that ran long, at the register when your card declines, and in the quiet after the kids are finally asleep. It is true when you feel spiritual and when you feel nothing at all. The mystery Paul is unveiling is not that God is available to people who find the right place and the right moment. It is that He has moved in. You do not have to go anywhere today to be near Him. He came to you, and He stays.
The hope of glory is confidence about a destination rather than a fragile wish, and its guarantee is a Person already inside you.
Christ in you. That is the mystery, and it is your ordinary Tuesday.
